GBS LIBRARY FACILITY
A. Circulation
GBS Library is fully automated in all aspects where the library's circulation have been digitized. GBS Library is using EIS software to maintain Circulation and Library is fully BARCODED. GBS Library is very record-intensive.
B. Reference and Information
The Library maintains a separate reference collection consisting of encyclopedias, dictionaries, handbooks, CD -ROMs, Audio and Video cassettes, books, newspapers, magazines, and thesis etc. Reference books are marked “R”. Readers may approach the Reference Desk for information or any assistance in the usage of the Library Collections and Services.
1. Help patrons find books on shelves
Librarians are able to help user to go directly to the shelves with books on a certain topic without using the catalogue. By this kind of method, patrons can save time in finding the information that they need.
2) Recommend books to Students
Librarian must truly be familiar with the library collection. As such, the librarian can recommend books that might contain the answer to particular questions as the librarian is already familiar with the contents of hundreds of reference books
3) Teach user to use online database
The librarian can teach the library user to use online databases, Journals, magazines and newspaper articles and search strategies for the topic the user has in mind.
4) Advice on searching information.
The librarian can recommend reliable web sites, give advice on searching the Internet for information, and evaluate the reliability of the information on web sites. As such, users can gain access to information that is reliable and accurate.

E. Inter Library Loan
The GBS Library offers inter-library loan service to its users for the books and periodicals which are not available in the GBS Library by procuring them from other libraries.
F. User Orientation
The library takes an active part in the orientation programme organized by the institute for the benefit of new students in the beginning of academic year. They are taken around the library to familiarize them with various resources and services available for them.
GBS Library also organizes book Exhibitions for faculties and students to help them enhance their knowledge and skills.
G. Book Bank facility to students
Issuing and returning personal books to all the students (sem wise)

- E- Articles - Articles sought by students on their choices of subjects/topics/preferences are also provided through email and support them with relevant information for their ongoing live projects.
- E-books – All the semester /Course books & general books are rigorously searched on the world wide web and gained access via downloads which are uploaded in EIS software for the benefit of the patrons.
